Regular Season Round 5: Final Spor - Samsun 62-76

Samsun has registered their first victory this season after two consecutive losses. The win is especially important as it came on the road game in Bursa, where they defeated Final Spor (1-2) 76-62 on Saturday. They outrebounded Final Spor 43-25 including 30 on the defensive glass. Samsun looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was American-Brazilian center Tim Soares (211-97, college: Master's) who had a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds. American guard Kahlil Dukes (183-95, college: Niagara, agency: Alti Sport) chipped in 21 points and 5 assists. American center Chris Harris (208-97, college: Houston, agency: Inception Sports) produced 14 points and 7 rebounds and forward Gurur Baybora (195-90) added 6 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for the hosts. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Samsun left bottom position moving up to eleventh place, which they share with Final Spor and Ankara Basket. Samsun will meet at home bottom-ranked Istanbul (#16) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Final Spor will play against Ankara Basket (#12) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
