Regular Season Round 5: Yalova - Akhisar Bld 75-49

Yalova has registered their first victory this season after three consecutive losses. The win is especially important as they outplayed much higher ranked Akhisar Bld (2-2) 75-49. American center Mike Morrison (206-89, college: GMU) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds. His fellow American import point guard Lamont Jones (183-90, college: Iona) contributed with 16 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Center Fatih Kizilca (201-92) answered with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 15 rebounds and American center Marvin Jefferson (206-86, college: Idaho, agency: Interperformances) added 14 points and 7 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) in the effort for Akhisar Bld. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Yalova (1-3) left bottom position moving up to fourteenth place, which they share with Mamak. Akhisar Bld at the other side dropped to the seventh position with two games lost. Yalova's next round opponent will be league's leader Konyaspor on the road and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
