Regular Season Round 8: Hopsi Polzela - Rogaska 96-93

Very important is a road loss of third ranked Rogaska (4-3) against ninth ranked Hopsi Polzela (2-5) on Saturday night. Visiting Rogaska was edged by Hopsi Polzela in a tough game in Polzela 93-96. The hosts were ahead by 1 point but lost the second period ending it with a 9-point deficit before their 28-16 run, which allowed them to win the game. Hopsi Polzela shot 60.3 percent from the field and made 16-of-20 charity shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Zan Kosic (188-93) who helped to win the game recording 26 points and 7 assists and Croatian power forward Josip Mikulic (215-93, college: Fairfield, agency: PEPI SPORT) who added 23 points during the contest. American forward Gerald Blackshear (206-94, college: Detroit) responded with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and his fellow American import point guard David Nichols (183-96, college: FSU, agency: GoEmpire Group) scored 15 points and 9 assists. Four Hopsi Polzela and five Rogaska players scored in double figures. Hopsi Polzela moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Zlatorog. Rogaska at the other side keeps the third position with three games lost. They share it with Primorska. Hopsi Polzela will play against higher ranked Sentjur (#7) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Rogaska will play against Triglav (#10) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
