Regular Season Round 8: Invasport - MBC-Niko 2 65-94

Bottom-ranked Invasport is still unable to win any game. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their fifth consecutive match to second ranked MBC-Niko 2 (6-1) 94-65. The game without a history. MBC-Niko 2 led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Invasport's 30 and made 17-of-22 charity shots (77.3 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Invasport 43-29 including a 30-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. MBC-Niko 2 players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. Swingman Oleksiy Kochura (195-1) fired a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Guard Bogdan Lukian (183-99) chipped in 22 points. Four MBC-Niko 2 players scored in double figures. Point guard Oleksandr Fomenko (180-86) produced 26 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Maksym Ferenets (195-2) added 11 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. MBC-Niko 2 have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain second place with 6-1 record having just one point less than leader Krivbas. Newly promoted Invasport still closes the standings with five games lost. MBC-Niko 2 will have a break next round. Invasport will play again at home against the league's second-placed MBC-Niko 2 (#2) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
