Gladiators (1-1) recorded its first loss in Trier on Wednesday night. Hosts were edged by fifteenth ranked Ehingen/Urspringschule (1-4) 86-83. Ehingen/Urspringschule looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was American Christian Oshita (198-97, college: UCSD) who scored 25 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. The other American import point guard Jack Pagenkopf (190-97, college: Dixie St.) chipped in 23 points and 5 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was Bahamas-Canadian power forward Robert Nortmann (207-87, college: Dalhousie) who recorded a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and Belgian-Swiss Jonathan Dubas (204-91) added 11 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Ehingen/Urspringschule left bottom position moving up to fourteenth place. Gladiators at the other side keep the twelfth position with one game lost. Ehingen/Urspringschule are looking forward to face higher ranked Bayer Giants (#10) in Leverkusen in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Gladiators will play at home against the league's leader Eisbaeren Bremerhaven where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
