Regular Season Round 4: Vinnystkiye M. - Interkhim 68-76

The biggest surprise of round 7 was guest Interkhim's (#6) road victory over desperated Vinnystkiye M. (0-7) 76-68 on Saturday evening. Vinnystkiye M. was trailing by 5 points at halftime but managed to get 9-point lead after three quarters before a 23-6 charge of Interkhim, which allowed them to win the game. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Vinnystkiye M. to just 6 points in fourth quarter. Interkhim made 26-of-31 free shots (83.9 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Vinnystkiye M. 57-28 including a 19-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. 26 personal fouls committed by Vinnystkiye M. helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The former international center Yevgeniya MBaye (192-92) fired a double-double by scoring 22 points and 12 rebounds (made all of her seven free throws) for the winners. Anna Sugak chipped in a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds. Forward Katerina Tikhonova (176-97) produced 18 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Victoria Ogiy (170-95) added 14 points, 5 rebounds, 7 assists and 5 steals respectively for lost side. Interkhim maintains sixth place with 1-6 record. It was Vinnystkiye M.'s seventh loss in a row. Newly promoted team still closes the standings with seven games lost. Interkhim will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Vinnystkiye M. will play again at home against Interkhim (#6) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
