Regular Season Round 9: Horsens IC - Wolfpack 83-63

The most shocking disappointment of round 9 was a defeat of league's leader Wolfpack (3-5). They were crushed by fifth ranked Horsens IC (5-3) 83-63 on Saturday night. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Horsens IC outrebounded Wolfpack 43-26 including 29 on the defensive glass. Bosnian forward Vedran Borovcanin (199-85) stepped up and scored 22 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and American guard David Efianayi (188-95, college: Gardner-Webb) chipped in 21 points. Four Horsens IC players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American Devin Thomas (203-96, college: Indiana St., agency: One Motive Sports) with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds and the former international point guard August Haas (188-97, college: St.Edward's) scored 16 points and 4 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Horsens IC maintains fifth place with 5-3 record. Wolfpack lost fourth consecutive game. They still keep top position with five games lost. They share it with Vaerlose. They were replaced at the leadership position by Vaerlose. Wolfpack will play next round against league's leader Bakken trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Horsens IC will try to continue on its current victory against third ranked Randers on the road.
