Very expected game in Leverkusen where 14th ranked Ehingen/Urspringschule (1-5) was defeated by tenth ranked Bayer Giants (3-4) 97-82 on Saturday. Bayer Giants looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists. Americans were the main players on the court. It was a great evening for JJ Mann (198-91, college: Belmont, agency: GoEmpire Group) who led his team to a victory scoring 23 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Grant Dressler (201-97, college: Chaminade) helped adding 20 points and 4 assists. Bayer Giants' coach Hansi Gnad used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side Christian Oshita (198-97, college: UCSD) responded with 19 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Jack Pagenkopf (190-97, college: Dixie St.) scored 13 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Bayer Giants moved-up to sixth place. Loser Ehingen/Urspringschule keeps the fourteenth position with five games lost. Bayer Giants are looking forward to face higher ranked Lions (#5) in Karlsruhe in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Ehingen/Urspringschule will play at home against Artland Dragons (#4) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
