Regular Season Round 12: Gargzdu - Ezerunas 86-64

There was no surprise in Gargzdai where 13th ranked Ezerunas (1-6) was crushed by top-ranked Gargzdu (5-0) 86-64 on Sunday. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Modestas Kumpys (194-91) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 22 points and 13 rebounds and center Oskaras Pleikys (202-1) who added 14 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was Deividas Kumelis (188-95) with 17 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and swingman Evaldas Dziaugys (196-96) scored 11 points and 6 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Gargzdu have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place. Ezerunas lost third consecutive game. They keep the thirteenth position with six games lost. They share it with Silales Lusis. Gargzdu will meet league's leader Suduva-Mantinga in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Ezerunas will play against Neptunas-Akv. (#12) in Klaipeda and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
