Second defeat of league's leader Duesseldorf (4-2) against tenth ranked Muenster (3-3) 92-66 was the most important game of the last round. Muenster outrebounded Duesseldorf 45-33 including 30 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Duesseldorf's players. It was a good game for American-British Malcom Delpeche (204-95, college: Bates) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 16 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. Stefan Wess (204-94) contributed with 15 points for the winners. Delpeche is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Muenster players scored in double figures. Naturalized American Shawn Gulley (200-93, college: Temple JC) replied with 20 points and 8 rebounds and American point guard Dennis Mavin (190-91, college: FIU) added 18 points in the effort for Duesseldorf. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Muenster moved-up to fourth place in North, which they share with Bernau. Duesseldorf at the other side dropped to the second position with two games lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Bochum. Duesseldorf will play next round against Itzehoe trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Muenster will try to continue on its current victory against seventh ranked Sixers in Sandersdorf.
