Regular Season Round 12: Mad Foxes - Supersonics 103-71

Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Yerevan: Mad Foxes (#3) and Supersonics (#5). Mad Foxes (9-3) smashed visiting Supersonics (5-8) by 32 points 103-71. The game was mostly controlled by Mad Foxes. Supersonics was better in fourth quarter 22-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Mad Foxes forced 20 Supersonics turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 31 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Supersonics' players. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international forward Arkadiy Mkrtychyan (204-95, college: Idaho) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 16 points, 21 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals and American guard Damian Archer (183-96, college: Miles) who added 19 points, 5 rebounds and 13 assists during the contest. Mkrtychyan attended previously one of camps at Eurobasket Summer League on his way to pro basketball. Five Mad Foxes players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American guard PJ Austin (190-98, college: SHU) with 21 points and 5 rebounds and his fellow American import guard Ian Parker (186-95, college: Vaughn) scored 9 points and 9 rebounds. Mad Foxes have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Vahakni City. Supersonics at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keep the fifth position with eight games lost. Mad Foxes will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Supersonics' supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Yerevan BKMA.
