Important game to mention about took place in Yerevan. Sixth ranked Erebuni (5-9) saved a 1-point derby victory at home edging 4th ranked Dvin (7-7) 84-83 on Friday evening. It looked good early as Dvin took a 8-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Erebuni took control and eventually winning the game that evening by 1 point. They dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Dvin's 40. The game was also dominated by American players. Forward Iwin Ellis (201-95, college: PVAMU) saved the victory with a double-double by scoring 27 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists (on 13-of-17 shooting from the field). Guard Tavis-Pistol Smith (190-99, college: Belm.Abbey) contributed with 26 points and 5 assists for the winners. Ellis attended previously one of camps at Eurobasket Summer League on his way to pro basketball. Guard Jordan Watson (188-95, college: West Liberty) replied with 34 points (!!!), 9 rebounds and 8 assists and forward Demetrius Levarity (201-96, college: Pitt St.) added 16 points and 16 rebounds in the effort for Dvin. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Erebuni maintains sixth position with 5-9 record. Dvin at the other side keeps the fourth place with seven games lost.
