Regular Season Round 9: Flames - Raiders 75-85

The game in Vienna was also quite interesting. Third ranked Raiders Tirol (5-3) played at the court of 5th ranked Flames (2-2). Raiders Tirol defeated Flames 85-75 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Raiders Tirol. Flames managed to win fourth quarter 28-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Raiders Tirol dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Flames' 26. The best player for the winners was Slovenian swingman Rene Gradolnik (194-98) who scored 21 points and 8 rebounds. Guard Stefan Oberhauser (190-92) chipped in 17 points and 4 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Ben Seipt (196-96) who recorded a double-double by scoring 13 points and 12 rebounds and forward David Wrumnig (175-0) added 19 points respectively. Five Raiders Tirol and four Flames players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Raiders Tirol. They moved-up to second place. Loser Flames keep the fifth position with two games lost. Raiders Tirol will meet at home Furstenfeld Panthers (#7) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Flames will play against the league's second-placed Mustangs in Mistelbach and hope to secure a win.
