Regular Season Round 9: Panthers - KOS 72-58

The most shocking disappointment of round 9 in the 2.Bundesliga was a road defeat of 4th placed KOS (4-2) to eighth ranked Furstenfeld Panthers (2-3) 72-58. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Furstenfeld Panthers outrebounded KOS 45-27 including 31 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. British forward David Akibo (201-94, college: Minot St.) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 14 rebounds for the winners and Slovenian Marko Vranjkovic (204-90) chipped in 14 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. The best for the losing side was point guard Timi Huber (179-92) with 16 points and 6 rebounds and Slovenian point guard Jernej Heine (191-0) scored 12 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Furstenfeld Panthers moved-up to second place, which they share with Mustangs and Nord Dragonz. KOS at the other side keeps the fourth position with two games lost. Furstenfeld Panthers is looking forward to face league's second-placed Raiders Tirol in Innsbruck in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. KOS will play at home against BBU and is hoping to win this game.
