Regular Season Round 7: ETV Hamburg - Schwelm 59-81

Rather expected game in Hamburg where 12th ranked ETV (1-3) was crushed by ninth ranked Schwelm (4-4) 81-59 on Tuesday. Schwelm dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to ETV's 24. ETV was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for American point guard Montrael Scott (191-93, college: PVAMU) who led his team to a victory scoring 16 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. The former international center Daniel Mayr (218-95) helped adding 10 points and 7 rebounds. Four Schwelm players scored in double figures. At the losing side Mubarak Salami (198-96) responded with 22 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists and Lithuanian Vidmantas Uzkuraitis (188-85) scored 20 points. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Schwelm moved-up to seventh place in North. ETV lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the twelfth position with three games lost. Schwelm will face higher ranked Muenster (#3) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
