Regular Season Round 11: Nevezis - Juventus 70-87

There was a small surprise when sixth ranked Juventus (5-4) beat 4th placed Nevezis (5-5) in Kedainiai 87-70. The game without a history. Juventus led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. It was a great evening for the former international point guard Vaidas Kariniauskas (197-93) who led his team to a victory scoring 17 points, 8 assists and 4 steals. Guard Vytautas Sulskis (201-88, college: YSU) helped adding 16 points and 8 rebounds. Forward Julius Kazakauskas (196-90) responded with 9 points and 14 rebounds and the former international power forward Vaidas Cepukaitis (207-89) scored 14 points and 7 rebounds. Five Juventus and four Nevezis players scored in double figures. Juventus moved-up to fifth place. Nevezis lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the sixth position with five games lost. Juventus will play against Neptunas (#8) in Klaipeda in the next round. Nevezis will play on the road against the league's second-placed Rytas in Vilnius and hopes to get back on the winning track.
