Very significant was Kagitspor's (#3) just 2-point road victory against one of their biggest challengers Duzce Belediye 73-71. Kagitspor dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Duzce Belediye's 22. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. The winners were led by American point guard Keshun Sherrill (175-94, college: Augusta) who scored that evening 20 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists and the other American import center Horace Spencer (206-97, college: Auburn) supported him with 16 points and 8 rebounds. Even 24 points and 6 rebounds by American guard Desi Washington (188-92, college: St.Peter's) did not help to save the game for Duzce Belediye. American-Jamaican forward Joel James (208-94, college: UNC) added 11 points and 13 rebounds for the hosts. Four Duzce Belediye players scored in double figures. Kagitspor have a solid four-game winning streak. Newly promoted Kagitspor maintains third position with 5-2 record behind leader Akhisar Bld, which they share with Bornova. Duzce Belediye at the other side dropped to the fifth place with three games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. Kagitspor will play against Yalova (#15) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Duzce Belediye will play against Istanbul (#16) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
