There was a minor upset when one of their biggest challengers Constanta (3-2) was outscored at home by sixth ranked CSM Targoviste (3-2) 72-47 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by CSM Targoviste. Constanta managed to win third quarter 16-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Constanta to just 4 points in second quarter. They outrebounded Constanta 37-23 including a 28-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. The winners were led by the former international guard Ancuta Stoenescu (175-80) who scored that evening 28 points and 7 rebounds and international center Nicoleta Ghita (186-0) supported her with 24 points and 7 rebounds. Even 6 points and 9 rebounds by American forward Denia Davis-Stewart (185-98, college: Merrimack) did not help to save the game for Constanta. Forward Denisa Fota (174-95) added 14 points for lost side. CSM Targoviste moved-up to fourth place, which they share with defeated Constanta.
