Regular Season Round 11: Canik Belediye - Elazig 48-82

Bottom-ranked Canik Belediye (0-11) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 82-48 loss to thirteenth ranked Elazig (2-8) in Samsun on Saturday evening. Elazig outrebounded Canik Belediye 48-29 including a 36-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American Emma Cannon (190-89, college: FSC) who had a double-double by scoring 29 points and 24 rebounds. Czech power forward Alena Hanusova (190-91, agency: Basket Promotion Agency) chipped in a double-double by scoring 13 points and 12 rebounds. American center Stephanie Madden (186-88, college: Langston, agency: Areus Sports) produced a double-double by scoring 21 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists and Nazli Caliskan added 9 points respectively for the hosts. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Elazig moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Kayseri and Adana Basket. Canik Belediye at the other side still closes the standings with 11 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
