Regular Season Round 6: Vinnystkiye M. - Rivne 55-54

The most exciting game of round 6 in the Superleague took place in Vinnytsia. This derby game ended with only one-point defeat on the road of 8th ranked Rivne (1-11) to sixth ranked Vinnystkiye M. (2-10) 55-54 on Saturday evening. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 19-10. But Rivne won second period 16-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a good game for forward Katerina Tikhonova (176-97) who saved her team from a defeat with 15 points and 9 rebounds. Larysa Stadnik (185-92) contributed with 10 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. The former international guard Viktoriya Shmatova (172-87) replied with 14 points and 8 rebounds and center Tetiana Havrylchyk (193-0) added 13 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for Rivne. Newly promoted Vinnystkiye M. maintains sixth position with 2-10 record, which they share with Interkhim. Rivne lost eleventh consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with 11 games lost. Vinnystkiye M. is looking forward to face league's second-placed Kyiv Basket on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Rivne will play against Interkhim (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
