Regular Season Round 9: Kapfenberg - Timberwolves 80-62
Date: December 5, 2020
We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when ninth ranked Kapfenberg Bulls (2-4) defeated at home 8th ranked Timberwolves (2-7) 80-62 on Saturday. The game without a history. Kapfenberg Bulls led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Kapfenberg Bulls outrebounded Timberwolves 41-30 including a 36-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was American guard AJ Turner (201-96, college: Northwestern, agency: One Motive Sports) who scored 13 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. The former international point guard Thomas Schreiner (195-87, agency: Dynamics Global Management) chipped in 14 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Philipp DAngelo (198-89) who recorded 15 points and 8 rebounds and guard Jakob Szkutta (188-99) added 16 points and 5 assists respectively. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Kapfenberg Bulls moved-up to eighth place. Loser Timberwolves dropped to the ninth position with seven games lost. Kapfenberg Bulls will face higher ranked Gunners Oberwart (#7) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Timberwolves will play against UBSC Graz and hope to win that game.
