Regular Season Round 11: Gaziantep - Tofas 68-67

A very interesting game took place in Gaziantep. It ended with only one-point defeat on the road of higher ranked Tofas (5-6) to thirteenth ranked Gaziantep (4-5) 68-67 on Saturday evening. Gaziantep players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. 24 personal fouls committed by Tofas helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was American Rashard Kelly (203-95, college: Wichita St.) who had a double-double by scoring 12 points and 14 rebounds. Point guard Can-Ugur Ogut (178-92) chipped in 9 points and 8 assists. Gaziantep's coach Nenad Markovic allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Trinidad and Tobago-American Devaughn Akoon-Purcell (196-93, college: Illinois St.) produced 19 points and 7 rebounds and American guard Semaj Christon (190-92, college: Xavier) added 10 points and 4 assists respectively for the guests. Gaziantep moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Buyukcekmece. Tofas at the other side keeps the fifth position with six games lost. Gaziantep's next round opponent will be higher ranked Dacka (#5) in Istanbul and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Tofas will play at home against Socar Petkim and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
