Regular Season Round 9: Kirchheim - Schwenningen 73-85

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 10th ranked Kirchheim Knights' (2-5) home loss to ninth ranked Schwenningen (3-3) 73-85 on Saturday. Schwenningen looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Kirchheim Knights' players. American players dominated the game. Shaun Willett (193-96, college: Queens, NC) nailed 23 points and 6 rebounds (on 10-of-11 shooting from the field) for the winning side and point guard Nate Britt (185-94, college: UNC) accounted for 16 points, 6 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals. Four Schwenningen players scored in double figures. Kyle Leufroy (190-96, college: Lehigh) came up with 21 points and 6 rebounds and point guard Richard Williams (178-87, college: San Diego St.) added 13 points respectively for Kirchheim Knights in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Schwenningen moved-up to seventh place. Kirchheim Knights lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the twelfth position with five games lost. Schwenningen will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Kirchheim Knights will play against Ehingen/Urspringschule (#15) in Allmendingen and hope to secure a win.
