No shocking result in a game when second ranked Rostock (6-1) beat 13th ranked Walter Tigers (1-3) in Tuebingen 96-90 on Saturday. Rostock made 22-of-26 free shots (84.6 percent) during the game. Iranian Behnam Yakhchali (194-95) nailed 34 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds for the winning side and American forward Keith Wright (203-89, college: Harvard) accounted for 14 points and 5 rebounds. Finnish Elias Valtonen (199-99, college: ASU, agency: Blacktop Management) came up with 21 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) and naturalized Cameroonian Roland Nyama (198-93, college: Stony Brook) added 13 points respectively for Walter Tigers in the defeat. Four Rostock and five Walter Tigers players scored in double figures. Walter Tigers' coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Rostock have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader. Walter Tigers lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fourteenth place with three games lost. Rostock will meet at home MLP Academics Heidelberg (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day.
