Regular Season Round 5: Beroe - Akademik P. 80-81

The most exciting game of round 4 in the NBL took place in Stara Zagora. This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of one of their biggest challengers Beroe (2-2) to seventh ranked Academik Plovdiv (2-2) 81-80 in the game for the third place. Academik Plovdiv looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Bosnian center Obrad Tomic (207-93, agency: PEPI SPORT) who helped to win the game recording 16 points and 8 rebounds and Croatian forward Jere Vucica (206-92, college: Miami, OH) who added 15 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Academik Plovdiv's coach Jordan Yankov used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the losing side international swingman Nikolay Stoyanov (194-94) responded with 16 points and American forward Kaleb Bishop (203-97, college: FDU) scored 15 points and 6 rebounds. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Academik Plovdiv moved-up to third place, which they share with Cherno More and Beroe. Academik Plovdiv is looking forward to face Yambol (#7) at home in the next round. Beroe will have a break next round.
