Regular Season Round 6: Prometey - Kyiv Basket 101-62

An interesting game for Prometey (12-0) which hosted in Kamianske second-best Kyiv Basket (10-2). Top-ranked Prometey had an easy win 101-62. The game was mostly controlled by Prometey. Kyiv Basket managed to win fourth quarter 24-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Kyiv Basket to just 7 points in second quarter. Prometey dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Kyiv Basket's 30. Prometey forced 20 Kyiv Basket turnovers and outrebounded them 38-27 including a 31-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. American Bernice Mosby (186-84, college: Baylor) notched a double-double by scoring 22 points, 14 rebounds and 4 blocks to lead the effort and the former international point guard Olga Dubrovina (171-87) supported her with 22 points, 14 assists and 4 steals (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). Five Prometey players scored in double figures. Even 11 points and 6 rebounds by the former international forward Ganna Rulyova (182-86) did not help to save the game for Kyiv Basket. The former international swingman Anna Olkhovyk (188-87) added 8 points. Kyiv Basket's coach Volodimir Kholopov gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Prometey have an impressive 12-game winning streak. Newly promoted Prometey maintains first position with 12-0 record. Defending champion Kyiv Basket keeps the second place with two games lost. They share the position with Dynamo-NPU. Prometey will meet Dynamo-NPU (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Kyiv Basket will play against Vinnystkiye M. and hope to secure a win.
