he first one was a victory of Jonava over one of their biggest challengers Vytis 84-82 on Saturday night. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Vytis. Jonava looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. 27 personal fouls committed by Vytis helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international forward Darius Tarvydas (199-91) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and 8 rebounds. Forward Laimonas Kisielius (203-85, college: William & Mary) contributed with 14 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners. Center Aurelijus Pukelis (205-94) replied with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 15 rebounds and the former international center Darjus Lavrinovic (212-79) added 12 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Vytis. Four Jonava and five Vytis players scored in double figures. Jonava maintains third position with 8-2 record having 2 victories less than leader Suduva-Mantinga. Vytis at the other side keeps the fourth place with three games lost. Jonava are looking forward to face Silute (#5) at home in the next round. Vytis will play against Mazeikiai and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
