Regular Season Round 6: Frankivsk - Dynamo-NPU 78-89

Rather expected game when 5th ranked Frankivsk (5-7) lost to third ranked Dynamo-NPU (10-2) in Ivano-Frankivsk 78-89 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 10 points at the halftime before their 53-32 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Dynamo-NPU outrebounded Frankivsk 42-30 including 29 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a good game for American guard Andreona Keys (178-95, college: Purdue) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 37 points (!!!) and 14 rebounds. Power forward Viktoriya Babych (185-99) contributed with 20 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Keys is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. The former international guard Arina Bilotserkivska (170-89) replied with 26 points and 7 assists and Veronika Kosmach (177-1) added 22 points and 5 assists in the effort for Frankivsk. Four Frankivsk players scored in double figures. Dynamo-NPU moved-up to second place, which they share with Kyiv Basket. Frankivsk lost third consecutive game. They keep the fifth position with seven games lost. Dynamo-NPU will face league's leader Prometey in Kamianske in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Frankivsk will play on the road against Chaika (#4) in Berdiansk and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
