Very important is a home loss of second ranked Raiders Tirol (5-4) against eighth ranked Furstenfeld Panthers (3-3) on Sunday night. Host Raiders Tirol was crushed by Furstenfeld Panthers in Innsbruck 97-71. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Raiders Tirol. The game was mostly controlled by Furstenfeld Panthers. Raiders Tirol was better in second period 19-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Furstenfeld Panthers made 17-of-22 charity shots (77.3 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of British forward David Akibo (201-94, college: Minot St.) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 8 rebounds. Slovenian Marko Vranjkovic (204-90) contributed with 19 points and 7 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners. Four Furstenfeld Panthers players scored in double figures. Luxembourg forward Oliver Vujakovic (192-96) replied with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Stefan Oberhauser (190-92) added 14 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Raiders Tirol. Furstenfeld Panthers moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Nord Dragonz. Raiders Tirol at the other side keeps the second position with four games lost. Furstenfeld Panthers will play against league's second-placed Mustangs in Mistelbach in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Raiders Tirol will play on the road against BBU in Salzburg and hopes to get back on the winning track.
