Regular Season Round 11: BBU Salzburg - Raiders 82-78

The game between second ranked Raiders Tirol (5-5) and seventh ranked BBU (4-4) was the most important one in the last round on Tuesday night. Raiders Tirol was defeated by BBU in a tough game in Salzburg 78-82. The hosts trailed by 10 points after first quarter, but they rallied back winning next two quarters and won the game by 4 points. BBU made 23-of-27 free shots (85.2 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Raiders Tirol turnovers. Spanish guard Jesus Diaz (188-88) orchestrated the victory by scoring 27 points. Spanish forward Guillermo Sanchez (200-91) contributed with 13 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Slovenian swingman Rene Grdadolnik (194-98) answered with 19 points and 5 rebounds and Luxembourg forward Oliver Vujakovic (192-96) added 16 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Raiders Tirol. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. BBU moved-up to fifth place, which they share with KOS. Raiders Tirol at the other side keeps the second position with five games lost. BBU is looking forward to face league's second-placed Mustangs in Mistelbach in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Raiders Tirol will play on the road against the league's leader Blackbirds in Jennersdorf and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
