Regular Season Round 11: Blackbirds - KOS 84-71

An interesting game for Blackbirds (8-0) which hosted in Jennersdorf 4th placed KOS (4-4). Leader Blackbirds managed to get a 13-point victory 84-71. The game was mostly controlled by Blackbirds. KOS was better in second period 21-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding KOS to just 7 points in first quarter. They outrebounded KOS 36-19 including 24 on the defensive glass. It was a great evening for the former international forward Sebastian Koch (201-88) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 13 rebounds. Center Christoph Astl (186-88) helped adding 12 points and 9 rebounds. Five Blackbirds players scored in double figures. Blackbirds' coach Daniel Muellner used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Slovenian center Lovro Fizuleto (200-92) responded with 18 points and 5 rebounds and Slovenian guard Anze Kos (188-93, college: OLLU) scored 20 points (perfect behind the arc making all five shots). Blackbirds have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. They maintain first place with 8-0 record. KOS lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fifth position with four games lost. They share it with BBU Salzburg. Blackbirds will play against league's second-placed Raiders Tirol in Innsbruck in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. KOS will play at home against the league's leader Worthersee Piraten and hopes to get back on the winning track.
