The biggest surprise took place in Ludwigsburg where host EnBW Ludwigsburg (4-1) beat league's leader ALBA Berlin (4-1) 78-71 on Tuesday evening. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of ALBA Berlin. EnBW Ludwigsburg made 18-of-21 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was the former international center Elias Harris (203-89, college: Gonzaga, agency: BeoBasket) who had a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). American guard Jaleen Smith (193-94, college: UNH) chipped in 12 points, 9 rebounds and 9 assists. Four EnBW Ludwigsburg players scored in double figures. International center Johannes Thiemann (206-94, agency: BeoBasket) produced 11 points and 8 rebounds and American guard Peyton Siva (183-90, college: Louisville) added 13 points and 6 assists respectively for the guests. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. EnBW Ludwigsburg moved-up to fourth place, which they share with ALBA and Oldenburg. ALBA Berlin will play next round against Brose Bamberg trying to make it back to the top of the standings. EnBW Ludwigsburg will try to continue on its current victory against twelfth ranked Skyliners in Frankfurt.
