Regular Season Round 9: Herlev - Amager 66-71

Very significant was Amager's (#1, 6-1) victory against second-best Herlev (5-3) 71-66. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Herlev. The guests trailed by 6 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 5-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 71-66. Amager looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The former international guard Anna Seilund (174-93, college: USF) stepped up with a triple-double by scoring 10 points, 13 rebounds and 14 assists for the winners and international guard Emilie Fogelstrom (166-92) chipped in 27 points (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field). Four Amager players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was international forward Emilie Hesseldal (186-90, college: Colorado St.) with 26 points and 8 rebounds and guard Emilie Larsen (177-1) scored 12 points and 5 rebounds. Herlev's coach Morten Thomsen tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Amager have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain first place with 6-1 record. Herlev at the other side keeps the second position with three games lost. Amager are looking forward to face bottom-ranked SISU (#5) in Copenhagen in the next round. Herlev will have a break next round.
