Regular Season Round 9: Gemlik - Samsun 75-92

The game with biggest result difference took place in Bursa. Local Gemlik (3-5) lost to ninth ranked Samsun (5-4) 92-75 on Wednesday night. Samsun shot the lights out from three sinking 17 long-distance shots on high 60.7 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The best player for the winners was forward Can Ozcan (202-89) who scored 28 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field). Ahmet Cantitiz (193-92) chipped in 15 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American center Myles Carter (206-97, college: Seattle) who recorded a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds and the former international forward Yunus Cankaya (199-85) added 14 points and 8 assists respectively. Four Gemlik players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Samsun moved-up to seventh place. Gemlik at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the twelfth position with five games lost. Samsun will face Sigortam.net (#11) in Balikesir in the next round. Gemlik's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Bursa to the arena Final Spor.
