Regular Season Round 6: Hamburg - Giessen 100-79
Date: December 10, 2020
No shocking result in a game when second ranked Hamburg Towers (5-1) crushed at home bottom-ranked 46ers (0-5) 100-79 on Thursday. Hamburg Towers forced 21 46ers turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. It was a good game for American guard Jordan Swing (198-90, college: UAB) who led his team to a victory with 28 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists (perfect from downtown making all eight shots !!!). The other American import point guard TJ Shorts (175-97, college: UC Davis) contributed with 13 points and 8 assists for the winners. Worth to mention Shorts played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped get the job in pro basketball. Johannes Richter (205-93) replied with 10 points and 6 rebounds and American forward Scottie James (201-96, college: Liberty) added 11 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for 46ers. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Hamburg Towers have an impressive five-game winning streak. Despite that victory Hamburg Towers went down to third position due to points difference, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser 46ers still closes the standings with five games lost. Hamburg Towers will face BG Goettingen (#12) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. 46ers will play against Chemnitz (#17) and look forward to get finally their first victory.
