Regular Season Round 12: Khimik - Prometey 86-83

The most exciting game of round 12 in the Superleague took place in Yuzhny. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of one of their biggest challengers Prometey (7-4) to fifth ranked Khimik (6-5) 86-83 on Thursday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Prometey. The hosts trailed by 4 points after three quarters before their 25-18 charge, which allowed them to win the game. 27 personal fouls committed by Prometey helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Tyrell Nelson (201-95, college: Gardner-Webb) who helped to win the game recording 26 points and 9 rebounds and international point guard Vitaliy Zotov (188-97) who added 11 points, 5 rebounds and 12 assists during the contest. Khimik's coach Vitaly Stepanovski used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. The best for the losing side was American forward Mike Myers (206-92, college: UMES, agency: Network Sports International) with 16 points and 8 rebounds and his fellow American import swingman DJ Stephens (195-90, college: Memphis) scored 13 points and 8 rebounds. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Khimik have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place. Prometey at the other side keeps the third position with four games lost. Khimik are looking forward to face Zaporizhye (#5) in Zaporozhye in the next round. Prometey will play on the road against Odessa and is hoping to win this game.
