Telekom Baskets' fans can finally celebrate the first win of their team after five consecutive losses. The victory is especially important as it came on the road game in Vechta, where they defeated Rasta Vechta (0-6) 80-69. They outrebounded Rasta Vechta 39-27 including 27 on the defensive glass. American players dominated the game. Guard Xavier Pollard (193-91, college: Kent St.) scored 14 points and 7 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and swingman Chris Babb (196-90, college: Iowa St., agency: Wasserman) chipped in 13 points and 4 assists during the contest. Five Telekom Baskets players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was center Dennis Clifford (213-92, college: Boston Coll.) with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and guard Joshua Young (184-88, college: Drake) scored 16 points and 4 assists. Telekom Baskets (1-5) left bottom position moving up to fifteenth place. It was Rasta Vechta's sixth loss in a row. They still close the standings with six games lost. They share the position with Chemnitz. Telekom Baskets will play against higher ranked Brose Bamberg (#10) on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Rasta Vechta will play against EnBW Ludwigsburg (#3) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
