Regular Season Round 13: Kibirkstis-VKM - Aistes-LSMU 46-81

Bottom-ranked Kibirkstis-VKM (0-7) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 81-46 loss to second ranked Aistes-LSMU (6-2) in Vilnius on Friday evening. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. Aistes-LSMU dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to Kibirkstis-VKM's 24 and had 25 for 38 from the free-throw line, while Kibirkstis-VKM only scored seven points from the stripe. Aistes-LSMU forced 36 Kibirkstis-VKM turnovers. Guard Urte Slavickaite (171-97) stepped up and scored 17 points and 5 steals for the winners and point guard Klaudija Janionyte (169-2) chipped in 12 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Aistes-LSMU players scored in double figures. At the losing side center Emilija Grigaliunaite (190-2) responded with 10 points and point guard Aiste Radzeviciute (164-2) scored 9 points. Kibirkstis-VKM's coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Aistes-LSMU maintains second place with 6-2 record having just eight point less than leader Kibirkstis. Kibirkstis-VKM lost their seventh game in a row. They still close the standings with seven games lost. Aistes-LSMU will meet at home Neptunas (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Kibirkstis-VKM's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Vilnius to the arena Kibirkstis.
