Regular Season Round 12: Ternopil-TNEU - Cherkasy 77-81

Bottom-ranked Cherkasy managed to get a second victory, breaking the two-game losing streak. This time they won against sixth-ranked Ternopil-TNEU 81-77. Ternopil-TNEU was ahead by 2 points at the halftime before a 44-38 second half run of Cherkasy. They brought some defensive toughness making 8 blocks. The winners were led by American forward Dion Wright (201-93, college: St.Bonaventure) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 26 points and 10 rebounds (on 12-of-15 shooting from the field) and the other American import guard Cameron Jones (193-89, college: NAU) supported him with 14 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Jones is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Even 20 points and 8 assists by American point guard Adrian Bowie (189-89, college: Maryland) did not help to save the game for Ternopil-TNEU. The former international Andriy Agafonov (208-86) added 14 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Cherkasy maintains eleventh position with 2-11 record. Newly promoted Ternopil-TNEU keeps the sixth place with five games lost. Cherkasy will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Ternopil-TNEU will play at home against Mykolaiv (#10) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
