The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Focsani at the home court on Friday night. Hosts were defeated by Pitesti 89-76. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Serbian center Nikola Jevtovic (210-89) had a double-double by scoring 17 points and 13 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Panamanian forward Tony Bishop (201-89, college: Texas St.) chipped in 22 points and 5 assists during the contest. American guard Jimmie Taylor (193-94, college: Rider) responded with 16 points and 9 rebounds and his fellow American import forward Robert Sampson (203-92, college: Georgia Tech) scored 10 points and 7 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Focsani's coach Mihai Petrut rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Pitesti is looking forward to face Miercurea Ciuc at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Focsani will play against Sibiu and is hoping to win this game.
