Regular Season Round 18: Ezerunas - Zalgiris II 91-80

Very important is a road loss of second ranked Zalgiris II (10-4) against thirteenth ranked Ezerunas (3-10) on Saturday night. Visiting Zalgiris II was defeated by Ezerunas in Moletai 91-80. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Zalgiris II. Ezerunas made 27-of-31 charity shots (87.1 percent) during the game. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Zalgiris II's players. Zalgiris II was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for center Ignas Juskevicius (201-91) who led his team to a victory with 18 points and 8 rebounds. Swingman Evaldas Dziaugys (196-96) contributed with 17 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Forward Justinas Ramanauskas (193-0) replied with 18 points and forward Paulius Murauskas (203-4) added 18 points in the effort for Zalgiris II. Five Ezerunas and four Zalgiris II players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Ezerunas moved-up to twelfth place. Zalgiris II at the other side dropped to the third position with four games lost. Ezerunas will play against higher ranked Neptunas-Akv. (#8) in Klaipeda in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Zalgiris II will play at home against Palanga (#10) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
