Very expected game when 7th ranked TKS 49ers (3-4) were crushed on the road by second ranked Koeln (5-1) 86-64 on Saturday. The best player for the winners was American point guard Vincent Golson (173-94, college: CSUDH) who scored 16 points and 8 assists. Center Yannick Kneesch (204-96) chipped in 17 points. At the other side the best for losing team was Lithuanian point guard Karolis Babkauskas (184-91) who recorded 13 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and American Malik Toppin (203-97, college: Salem) added 14 points respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Koeln keeps a position of North leader, which they share with Bochum. TKS 49ers at the other side dropped to the ninth place with four games lost. They share the position with Sandersdorf. Koeln will meet Muenster (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. TKS 49ers will play against Rist Wedel (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
