Regular Season Round 13: Elazig - Botas 82-95

Very expected game when 11th ranked Elazig (2-9) was defeated at home by seventh ranked Botas (6-5) 95-82 on Saturday. Botas made 19-of-21 free shots (90.5 percent) during the game. Russian forward Marina Bas (194-85) fired 24 points and 9 rebounds for the winners (made all of her thirteen free throws !!!). The former international point guard Busra Akbas (174-95) chipped in a double-double by scoring 22 points, 10 assists and 5 steals. Five Botas players scored in double figures. American Emma Cannon (190-89, college: FSC) produced a double-double by scoring 22 points and 13 rebounds and the other American import guard Kelsey Mitchell (172-95, college: Ohio St.) added 24 points and 7 assists respectively for lost side. The victory was the third consecutive win for Botas. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Cankaya. Loser Elazig dropped to the twelfth position with nine games lost. They share it with Adana Basket. Botas will meet at home bottom-ranked Canik Belediye (#14) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Elazig will play against Besiktas in Istanbul and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
