Regular Season Round 6: Goettingen - MBC 85-93

MBC's fans can finally celebrate the first win of their team after four consecutive losses. The victory is especially important as they defeated much higher ranked BG Goettingen (2-4) on the road game in Goettingen 93-85 on Saturday. MBC outrebounded BG Goettingen 41-29 including 28 on the defensive glass. Polish swingman Michal Michalak (196-93, agency: Octagon Europe) notched 23 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort and Croatian point guard Roko Rogic (187-92) supported him with 20 points and 4 assists. Even 24 points and 5 rebounds by American swingman Aubrey Dawkins (198-95, college: UCF, agency: Network Sports International) did not help to save the game for BG Goettingen. His fellow American import power forward Tai Odiase (206-95, college: UIC) added 19 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. MBC (1-4) left bottom position moving up to thirteenth place, which they share with Frankfurt. It was BG Goettingen's third loss in a row. They dropped to the twelfth position with four games lost. MBC will meet higher ranked s Oliver Baskets (#11) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. BG Goettingen will play against Hamburg Towers where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
