Regular Season Round 11: Hopsi Polzela - Helios Suns 84-93

Rather expected game when 9th ranked Hopsi Polzela (2-7) lost at home to sixth ranked Helios Suns (5-2) 93-84. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 27-19. But Hopsi Polzela won second period 25-22. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Helios Suns players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. The best player for the winners was Montenegrin center Mihailo Sekulovic (206-91) who scored 20 points and 8 rebounds. Point guard Daniel Vujasinovic (192-89) chipped in 9 points and 15 assists. American forward Aaron Carver (201-96, college: ODU) produced a double-double by scoring 24 points, 14 rebounds and 6 assists and Croatian power forward Josip Mikulic (215-93, college: Fairfield, agency: PEPI SPORT) added 23 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Helios Suns moved-up to fifth place. Hopsi Polzela at the other side dropped to the eighth position with seven games lost. Helios Suns' next round opponent will be higher ranked Rogaska (#4) in Rogaska Slatina and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Hopsi Polzela will play on the road against the league's second-placed Sencur Gor. (#2) in Kranj and hope to win that game.
