But Botas was not able to use a home court advantage and lost to the opponent from Istanbul 70-52 on Sunday night. Fenerbahce G. forced 25 Botas turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was American center Shelby Cheslek (196-92, college: Gonzaga) who had a double-double by scoring 26 points, 13 rebounds and 5 blocks. Idil Sacalir (178-2) chipped in 18 points and 5 rebounds. Zeyno Seren (76-3) produced 12 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals and American center Tearra Banks (188-95, college: Austin Peay) added 15 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Fenerbahce G. will face Edremit in Balikesir in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Botas will play on the road against Cesme in Izmir and hope to win that game.
