The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Rostock (7-2) on the court of ninth ranked Science City Jena on Sunday night. Visitors were defeated by Science City Jena 86-79. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Rostock. Science City Jena made 19-of-24 free shots (79.2 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. It was a great evening for Julius Wolf (203-93) who led his team to a victory scoring 18 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Center Robin Lodders (206-94) helped adding 20 points and 6 rebounds. Iranian Behnam Yakhchali (194-95) responded with 26 points and 5 assists and American forward Keith Wright (203-89, college: Harvard) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds. Four Rostock players scored in double figures. Science City Jena (4-2) moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Heidelberg. Rostock at the other side still keeps top position with two games lost. Science City Jena is looking forward to face MLP Academics Heidelberg (#5) at home in the next round. Rostock will play against Gladiators (#11) and is hoping to win this game.
