Regular Season Round 7: Constanta - Oradea 123-40

Bottom-ranked Oradea (0-6) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 123-40 loss to sixth ranked Constanta (4-3) in Constanta on Sunday evening. The game without a history. Constanta led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They held Oradea to an opponent 22.4 percent shooting from the field compared to 53.9 percent accuracy of the winners. Constanta forced 32 Oradea turnovers and outrebounded them 56-23 including a 26-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 34 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Oradea's players. It was a great evening for American guard Nikki McDonald (183-96, college: Georgia South) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 38 points (!!!), 13 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals. Her fellow American import forward Denia Davis-Stewart (185-98, college: Merrimack) helped adding 16 points and 14 rebounds. Five Constanta players scored in double figures. At the losing side Diana Rosu (-5) responded with 13 points and 6 rebounds and Maria Farago (-3) scored 11 points. Oradea's coach Attila Veres gave up on the game allowing to play twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Constanta moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Targoviste. Loser Oradea still closes the standings with six games lost. They share the position with Targu Secuiesc.
