Regular Season Round 13: Ternopil-TNEU - Mykolaiv 110-103 OT

Tenth-ranked Mykolaiv (2-9) made lots of trouble for sixth ranked Ternopil-TNEU (6-5) on Sunday. Ternopil-TNEU managed to secure only seven-point victory 110-103. However their fans expected much easier game. The hosts trailed by 7 points after three quarters before their 28-21 charge, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time and get a 7-point victory in overtime. Ternopil-TNEU made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. They also forced 21 Mykolaiv turnovers. Strangely Mykolaiv outrebounded Ternopil-TNEU 36-23 including 22 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. 24 personal fouls committed by Mykolaiv helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The game was dominated by American players. Point guard Adrian Bowie (189-89, college: Maryland) fired a double-double by scoring 26 points, 6 rebounds and 12 assists for the winners. Guard Omar Calhoun (198-93, college: UConn) chipped in 21 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Ternopil-TNEU's coach Dmitry Zabirchenko used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Forward Nathan Adrian (206-95, college: WVU, agency: Inception Sports) produced 31 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists and point guard Derrick Colter (180-94, college: Duquesne, agency: Players Group) added 26 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists respectively for lost side. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Ternopil-TNEU moved-up to fifth place. Mykolaiv at the other side keeps the tenth position with nine games lost. Ternopil-TNEU are looking forward to face league's second-placed Dnipro on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Mykolaiv will play against Zaporizhye (#6) in Zaporozhye and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
