Regular Season Round 19: Neptunas-Akv. - Mazeikiai 74-84

Mazeikiai's fans can finally celebrate the first win of their team after 12 consecutive losses. The victory is especially important as they defeated much higher ranked Neptunas-Akv. (5-7) on the road game in Klaipeda 84-74. Mazeikiai players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. It was a great evening for center Edgaras Preibys (200-2) who led his team to a victory scoring 20 points and 5 rebounds. Augustinas Venckus (190-97) helped adding 22 points. At the losing side forward Nojus Mineikis (201-0) responded with 9 points and 11 rebounds and guard Adomas Sidarevicius (188-1) scored 11 points and 7 assists. Five Mazeikiai and four Neptunas-Akv. players scored in double figures. Neptunas-Akv.'s coach Simonas Serapinas tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Mazeikiai maintains fifteenth place with 1-12 record. It was Neptunas-Akv.'s third loss in a row. They keep the eighth position with seven games lost. Mazeikiai will play against higher ranked Delikatesas (#13) in Joniskis in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Neptunas-Akv. will play at home against Vytis (#4) having rather not much hope for a victory.
